Dr. Michael Cao, Psy.D.
Dr. Michael Cao is a pediatric neuropsychologist with specialized training in conducting neuropsychological and psychological evaluations of diverse children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of acquired and congenital neurodevelopmental, learning, and medically complex disabilities. His clinical interests include Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, concussion, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). He has practiced in outpatient, inpatient, and private settings. Dr. Cao also has experience treating and supporting children and their families with focus on cognitive rehabilitation, adjustment to disability/hospitalization, reintegration into the school and community settings, and educational advocacy.
Dr. Cao earned his doctorate in psychology from Azusa Pacific University. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine of the NYU Langone Medical Center. He went onto complete two post-doctoral fellowships, at the Sports Concussion Institute in Los Angeles and the Brooklyn Learning Center in New York. Prior to his return to his native Southern California, Dr. Cao spent 9 years in New York City in his early career, most recently working as a Staff Psychologist at NYU Langone Health.
Outside of work, Dr. Cao enjoys spending time with his family and friends, training for triathlons and marathons, and traveling.
