Dr. Michelle Cabrera, OTD, OTR/L

Michelle completed undergraduate work at Azusa Pacific University with an emphasis in applied health and humanities before receiving her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and her Masters and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University.  She has research and program development experience related to domestic violence as well as health promotion in the diabetic population.

She completed an internship at the STAR Center in Denver, Colorado founded by Dr. Lucy Jane Miller, providing her with training in Sensory Processing Disorder.  While at the STAR Center, Michelle assisted in development of a sensory-based summer program, collection of data for the SP Scales—a sensory processing assessment currently in development, and studied under Dr. Kay Toomey learning the fundamentals of the SOS Approach to Feeding.  She has also done training in DIR/Floortime and iLS Integrated Listening Systems.

In her career as a pediatric therapist, Michelle has worked in a variety of settings including clinic-based, in-home, and public and non-public schools.  She enjoys working with children and their families in order to promote quality of life for the whole family as well as help the child reach his or her fullest potential.
